KENNEDY ON IRAQ TROOP CASUALTIES

Today, Senator Edward M. Kennedy released the following statement in response to the increasing number of American casualties, which makes 2007 the bloodiest year of this war so far.

"Our nation has reached a sad milestone, having lost more Americans in Iraq this year than in any other year. It's another painful and somber reminder of the enormous price in precious lives the Iraq war continues to exact. It's long past time for the Administration to change course and bring to and end the national nightmare the Iraq war has become."
